    初中英语课本中,as一词多次出现,含义较多且用法灵活,现将其用法分析归纳如下:
 
    1.作介词,意思为“如同,作为”,可以用于regard、view、treat等词后,构成固定搭配。如:He treats us as babies. 

    2. 作副词,常与连词as连用,意思为“和……一样”,如:as easy as ABC (非常容易)、as busy as a bee (非常繁忙),否定句中也可以用so…as。 

    3.作连词,(1)意思为“当……时”, 引导时间状语从句,如:She sang as she walked along the river. (2)意思为 “既然,因为”,引导原因状语从句,但语气不如because强烈,如:We all like her as she is kind. (3)意思为“虽然,尽管”,引导让步状语从句,Tired as he was, he still walked on. 相当于Although he was tired, he still walked on. (4)意思为“如,像”,引导方式状语从句。如:Do as I told you. 

    4. 作关系代词,可引导非限定性定语从句,并在从句中充当主语、宾语或表语等,有“正如……”之意;从句位置较灵活,可位于句首、句中或句末。如:Einstein,as we know,is a great scientist. 还可以引导限定性定语从句,若先行词被 the same、such修饰,关系代词应用as,如:My hometown is not the same as it was. He is not such a kind boy as he looks. 辨析:例1,He is such a good person as everyone likes. 例2,He is such a good person that everyone likes him. 例1中as引导定语从句,代替先行词person,在从句中作宾语,而例2中that 引导结果状语从句,因为从句中likes后面有代词him作宾语。
